Socrates

Socrates was born in 470 BCE in a city called Alopece. He died in 399 BC because he was accused of not showing respect to their Gods and for “corrupting the youth”. The trial lasted a day and he was sentenced to death. On his last day he refused offers to help him escape, accepting his death. He was forced to poison himself by consuming a deadly potion of a poisonous plant called “hemlock”.

Socrates was a scholar. He was famous for his participation in ancient Greek philosophy. In fact he was known as the “Father of western Philosophy”. One of his quotes says “Strong minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, weak minds discuss people”. This quote is about the people with “weak minds” are the people discussing rumours and gossip. 

Another quote of his says Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle”. This quote means to always be kind, because everyone has their own problems they’re fighting that you don’t know about.
